For anyone who has not yet had a chance to see this astounding locally-filmed documentary, this may be your last chance! The ’62 Storm describes the damage made by the powerful winter nor’easter that struck the Atlantic coast in March, 1962. During a period of three days, whole communities were flooded and destroyed, and lives were lost. Using archival photos, home movies, and interviews with those who survived, The ’62 Storm re-lives Delaware’s greatest 20th century disaster, the weather events that spawned it and reflects on the possibility of a similar storm occurring along the Delaware coast in the near future. [2007, Runtime: 56 minutes, Not rated] |
| The Rehoboth Beach Film Society screens films and/or recommends the screening of films that cover a broad scope of issues and subjects. The Film Society does not assume a political, religious, or philosophical position on any film. The Film Society’s mission is to "promote film as an art form through community outreach and educational film initiatives for all ages" and as such we bring cinematic arts to the public. We recognize that not everyone will agree with all film choices but will appreciate the opportunity to view films not typically available in non-metropolitan areas. |
