Selina claims to be guilty of the murder for which she was convicted, insisting a malevolent spirit is actually responsible. Margaret, finding herself drawn to Selina, begins to investigate this claim, over the objections of friends, family, and especially the head matron, who disapproves of the women’s increasingly close relationship.
