Directions for Virtual Cinema
Rather than squinting to watch streaming films on your laptop computer or tablet/notebook, you can use an HDMI cable to connect them to your television. Below are three videos explaining how to make the connection.
To connect your laptop computer to your television, Click here to watch a “how to” video. You will need a standard HDMI cable which can be purchased online or at a local store that sells electronic supplies.
If you have an iPhone/iPad, or an older MacBook you will need an HDMI adapter in addition to a standard HDMI cable. Click here to watch a “how to” video.
If you have a newer iPad pro you may be able to skip the adapter and get an HDMI/USB cable that plugs directly into your device.
For those using Apple TV, you can connect your iPad or iPhone directly to your TV without any additional cable. Using this method, the TV screen mirrors the iPad or iPhone. Click here to watch video.
If you have an electronic device that is different from the ones listed above, you can google for the information or call us and we will try to help. Some of the virtual cinema sites have a help section which will also provide information on how to watch a streaming film.
Note: For all three videos, you can bypass the ads at the beginning of each by clicking “Skip Ads” at the bottom of the screen.
If you have a Samsung Smart TV, there is an app you can download from the Apple store called “Mirror” that transmits whatever is on an Apple product (iPhone, iPad, laptop, desktop) directly to the TV without the cable. The Mirror app may also work on non-Apple smart phones, etc., but you have to have the Samsung Smart TV.
