Ways to Support

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society is tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Rehoboth Beach Film Society are considered charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes and may be deducted to the fullest extent of the law. A copy of our exemption document is available for public inspection.

There are numerous ways your donation can be put to use to enhance the quality of RBFS sponsored programs and events thereby benefiting the organization’s membership, Sussex County residents, visitors to the southern Delaware coastal area, as well as young emerging filmmakers.  Please use the links below to access more information about various donation opportunities.

Every contribution is very much appreciated.

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society relies on donations to help support its community-based operations including the Cinema Art Theater. As with most arts organizations, ticket sales do not cover the full cost of presenting quality films. General, non-restricted donations are tax deductible and can be made at any time of the year.

If you would like to leave a lasting gift to the Rehoboth Beach Film Society as part of your legacy, please consider issuing a charitable bequest. A charitable bequest is a gift made through a will. Charitable bequests are revocable, flexible, and can provide estate tax advantages. Bequests are often used to create a named fund in honor of an individual or family. The Bequest can be established to support a specific project that was favored by the donor or the use of the donation can be left to the discretion of the Film Society’s Board of Directors.

A bequest can be a gift of a specific sum or asset, a percentage of the estate, or the residual estate. You may designate a charity as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or a retirement plan, such as a qualified pension and profit-sharing plan 401(k) or Keogh plan, or individual retirement account. Many people have life insurance that has outlived its original purpose and a charity can be designated as the beneficiary.

An attorney can help you make a charitable bequest that fits into your overall estate plan. Often, a charitable bequest may be made in codicil (or as an addition to) your will. Staff at the Rehoboth Beach Film Society can work with you and your advisor.

If you are interested in making a charitable bequest to the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, please contact Helen Chamberlin (302-645-9095). All donations are tax deductible. Your support is appreciated.
